LED technology

LEDs are tiny electronic chips made of special semiconductor compounds. When current flows through this solid, it begins to glow, it inchemitsinch light. In lighting technology, this process is called inchelectroluminescenceinch. With an edge length of about one millimetre, LEDs are among the smallest light sources available. They emit an almost point-shaped light. Even a little energy is enough to make the semiconductors glow.
